Big Bang Reloaded: Hublot and Kylian Mbappé Celebrate in Madrid

Very few brands understand this connection more naturally than Hublot. Founded in 1980 by Carlo Crocco, Hublot introduced a concept that initially surprised the watch world by combining gold with rubber — an unexpected pairing at the time. The company later transformed luxury sports watch culture through its famous philosophy of “The Art of Fusion,” bringing together traditional watchmaking with unconventional materials and engineering approaches. Ceramic, sapphire, carbon fiber, titanium, and precious metals increasingly became part of the House vocabulary.

The Big Bang collection fundamentally changed Hublot’s trajectory after its introduction in 2005. It quickly became one of the most recognizable watch designs of its generation and helped establish a younger, more contemporary identity inside luxury watchmaking. Sport also entered the brand’s DNA naturally. Football in particular became a recurring focus through global tournaments, partnerships, and ambassadors connected to the world’s most watched game.

Celebrity collaborations gradually evolved into something larger than traditional endorsements. Athletes and public figures increasingly became part of product development and storytelling itself. Hublot frequently approaches partnerships through personality and shared values rather than visibility alone. Precision, ambition, and performance repeatedly appear as common themes. Madrid recently became the setting for the latest chapter of that story.

To celebrate the launch of the limited-edition Big Bang Reloaded, Hublot organized an exclusive gathering in the center of the Spanish capital. The evening brought together names from football, entertainment, and international culture, creating an atmosphere where sport and luxury moved naturally side by side. Among guests were football figures including Iker Casillas, Guti, and Miguel Torres, joined by personalities including Paula Echevarría, Mónica Cruz, Esha Gupta and Ludwika Paleta.

The atmosphere throughout the evening reflected the same energy Hublot frequently associates with its image. Live performances from Anastasia McQueen and a DJ set by Inés Bilbao de la Cierva carried the celebration through the night, while guests moved through an environment built around music, contemporary culture, and sport. Yet attention repeatedly returned to one person. Kylian Mbappé.

Since becoming a Hublot ambassador in 2018, Mbappé established himself as one of football’s defining figures and one of the sport’s strongest contemporary personalities. Speed, discipline, and consistency shaped his career. Hublot clearly saw similar characteristics reflected inside its own identity. The evening’s central reveal became the Big Bang Reloaded Kylian Mbappé, the first limited edition created in partnership with the football star. Produced in just 200 pieces, the watch immediately positioned itself as an object built around symbolism as much as engineering.

The 44mm design combines polished white ceramic with 18-carat King Gold and introduces visual references directly connected to Mbappé himself. His personal phrase, “Trust Yourself,” appears engraved at six o’clock as a reminder of the mindset closely associated with his career. The number ten, executed in King Gold, references both his football identity and personal symbolism. Inside, the Unico manufacture movement reveals one of Hublot’s most advanced chronograph architectures. Technical complexity remains visible throughout the watch itself, continuing the House approach of transforming engineering into visual expression.
