Luxury hospitality is increasingly becoming a platform for fashion houses to extend their creative identity beyond the runway. Seasonal collaborations with hotels and resorts are transforming destinations into immersive brand experiences, where design, travel, and lifestyle converge. Rather than simply showcasing collections, these partnerships create environments that allow guests to experience a maison’s aesthetic through architecture, leisure, gastronomy, and culture. As experiential luxury continues to evolve, destination takeovers have become an important expression of contemporary brand storytelling.

This growing trend is reflected across the global tourism industry. According to the World Travel & Tourism Council’s Economic Impact Research, the travel and tourism sector contributed more than US$11 trillion to the global economy in 2024, representing approximately 10% of global GDP, with luxury travel continuing to outperform many other market segments. Supporting this development, Virtuoso’s Luxe Report identifies immersive experiences and exclusive destination partnerships among the strongest drivers influencing affluent travellers when selecting luxury holidays. Together, these findings demonstrate how hospitality increasingly serves as a cultural platform where fashion, design, and travel intersect.
Burberry continues this dialogue through a seasonal collaboration with One&Only Aesthesis, transforming the resort on the Athenian Riviera into a destination shaped by the House’s visual identity. Set within a protected coastal forest overlooking the Aegean Sea, the project introduces a series of bespoke installations inspired by both Burberry’s British heritage and the Mediterranean landscape.

Originally recognised as a celebrated filming location during the middle of the twentieth century, One&Only Aesthesis preserves the architectural character and atmosphere associated with the glamour of the 1960s. Its coastal setting provides the backdrop for Burberry’s latest interpretation of resort living.
For the collaboration, the House’s signature Burberry Check has been reimagined in shades inspired by the turquoise waters surrounding the property. The pattern extends throughout the resort, appearing across the main swimming pool, landscaped gardens, tennis and padel courts, creating a cohesive visual language that connects the fashion house with its Mediterranean surroundings.
The partnership also references Burberry’s long-standing relationship with leisurewear. Archival records trace the House’s introduction of swimwear and cruisewear to the 1930s, reflecting an early interest in garments designed for travel and outdoor lifestyles. This heritage informs the contemporary experience, where guests can explore the resort aboard custom bicycles, electric buggies, or branded boats navigating the coastline.

Within the resort’s boutiques, visitors discover Burberry’s High Summer collection alongside accessories and activewear designed for warm-weather destinations. Seasonal pieces include polo shirts, swimwear, and the Margate bag, crafted in raffia hand-crocheted into the House’s iconic check motif, reinforcing the collection’s connection to craftsmanship and summer travel.
By bringing its distinctive design language to the Athenian Riviera, Burberry demonstrates how fashion increasingly extends beyond clothing into the broader experience of travel. The collaboration with One&Only Aesthesis reflects a growing movement within luxury hospitality, where destinations become immersive expressions of creativity, allowing guests to experience a brand through architecture, landscape, and contemporary resort culture.
